A league is a round-robin: teams play each other and are ranked in a table; the number of rounds is set in the settings and the schedule is laid out across the crosstable slots. A cup is a knockout bracket: the winner of a match advances to the next stage, the loser is out. The format is chosen when creating the tournament and decides what the main page shows: a table or a bracket.
A win is 3 points, a draw 1, a loss 0. Teams are ranked by points; if they are level, the better goal difference comes first, then the higher number of goals scored, and only after that the name is used. Only finished matches count, including forfeits — a forfeit is treated as a regular played match.
The bracket is built with one button: teams are drawn into pairs and every match up to the final is created at once. An empty slot is labelled with whoever will take it: “Winner of QF #2”. Enter a result and the winner moves into the next pair by itself, while a losing semifinalist goes to the third place match if it is played. With fewer teams than places, the spare ones skip the first stage. A draw in a knockout match: enter the penalty shootout, otherwise the bracket stalls on that pair. The bracket can only be rebuilt while no match has been played.
Leaderboards are built from the event log of every match in the tournament. Goals include open play and penalties — own goals are not credited to the scorer. Assists, yellow cards and red cards are counted separately. Each list shows the top 10 players with their team.
